There are many more options then the ones described above and it is important to remember that I do not explicitly endorse any of the programs that I described above. They are mere examples of programs that I have come across, offering easy installation and configuration. Many programs however, have derived projects that are focused on a specific application of capabilities.

A great example is the m0n0wall spin-off called PFSense. While m0n0wall is a great product for stand-alone routers/firewalls, the PFSense project has taken the m0n0wall code and added very specific functionality toward heavier business applications, with fail over and load balancing in mind.

For some environments, looking at PFSense could make more sense then m0n0wall.

The Internet is a huge resource to find out more information and doing a search on them will reveal many of them.
