Most people know by now what a blog is. For those who don't: A blog is short for the word weblog, sort of a diary on the Internet. When you are writing a blog yourself, you have to make sure that people understand what the purpose of your blog is, for example to write about your personal life, a product or product development, or to write about things that are going on in your company or department. At this time, many C-level executives use a blog to communicate their daily thoughts with their employees. Mind you that a blog is a casual way of communicating, generally not seen as an official information source.
A blog is however, a great way of generating updated content. When you have something to say about a certain subject, publish it on a blog so people that are interested in it can read it (and comment on it if you allow so) whenever they want.
There are many ways to start blogging. You can do it on your own website using WordPress or go to one of the major blogging communities such as Blogger. No matter where you decide to go, consider that a blog needs updating to keep its value. If you cannot commit to adding text on a regular bases, it is really not worthwhile.
